Insurance Benefits

The Hughes Agency is proud of our ability to offer several different levels of insurance coverage for our employees. We have partnered with Essential Staff Care to provide quality, affordable options.

There are 3 available levels of coverage offered to our employees.
First is a Limited Benefits plan. This plan provides reimbursement directly to the employee for certain medical expenses. The employee has the option to cover not only his/her self but also dependents and spouse. This plan is payroll deducted weekly. Please see the application for covered expenses and cost.

Second is a Minimum Essential Care (MEC) policy. This coverage affords the same coverage as the Limited Benefits plan but also covers required preventive and well-ness coverage to qualify under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to eliminate the potential penalty upon the employee for health insurance coverage. This plan is a self-paid policy as the insurance company will arrange for payment directly with the employee. Coverage is available at the employee’s option and cost for self-coverage along with dependent and spousal coverage. Again please see the application for covered expenses and cost.

Lastly is the ACA Compliant Medical Value Plan. This policy includes the coverages included in the MEC policy and adds Doctor visit copay, Emergency Room copay and limited Prescription Drug copay. This policy is also a self-paid and ACA Compliant policy. Once an employee reaches full time status as defined under ACA, the company may participate in the cost to the employee. Coverage is available at the employee’s option and cost for self-coverage along with dependent and spousal coverage. Again please see the application for covered expenses and cost.
